Interested in learning about the new elementary literacy curriculum and what to expect for your child? If so, mark your calendar to attend an info session planned for your child’s school. WHEN and WHERE: These info sessions are scheduled 30 minutes prior to each school’s Curriculum Night. WHAT: For more information on the process the district used to select these programs, watch the June 21st School Committee meeting at http://cablecast.awcm.org/CablecastPublicSite/show/3817?channel=2. WHO: Robin Pratt, the district’s new Literacy Coach and Coordinator of Elementary Curriculum, will be the presenter at each info session. Robin is a life-long learner who enjoys nothing more than matching a reader with a book and listening to the stories learners write and tell. Robin is an elementary school teacher with a master's degree in reading. She has taught for over 25 years in Massachusetts, most recently as the Reading Specialist/Coach with the North Brookfield Public Schools. She believes strongly in the magic of good teaching and is looking forward to learning from and with the communities in Ashburnham and Westminster. HOSTS: AWRSD Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) and the Department of Pupil Services Learn more about SEPAC at https://sites.google.com/view/ashburnham-westminster-sepac.
